I met my wife in college in the late 90's and we graduated into the dotcom bust. A while later we moved to the south and were trying to buy a home during the 2005-2007 housing mania. She's not much into finance, real estate, insurance, etc. so I mostly handle these things for our family. When we were having difficulty trying to buy a home, we would talk about the various reasons why, and at the time there was housing slang everywhere; at work, on the sidelines of kid's games, on the news, etc. T
