If you suddenly had $2500 more a month where/ how would you start?

I’m a 36 year old man with almost nothing saved for retirement but I recently got a pretty nice pay raise. Rather than allowing that to become lifestyle creep I’m hoping to invest it on my own. But I have no clue how to go about that. Any advice would be appreciated.
