The S&P500 index has been stagnant for about a quarter now. During that same time we have seen an uptick in inflation caused by Trumps war with Iran. Now, crude oil prices have hit $117 a barrel with no end in sight. Bond yields have made borrowing harder. All this is happening as investors are beginning to get cold feet about AI related CapEx, as we hear stories about data centers not getting complete and processing chips sitting in warehouses. Consumer spending remains high, but it’s hard to tell if/when the market will turn around.
