I've lost an inordinate amount of money this year thanks to investing in stocks. By my estimations by year's end I will have lost as much money as I've managed to save from salaries this year. This is the end for me with variable rent. I need to find a way to invest in a vehicle that grows above inflation but has close-to-zero chances to EVER be in the red. I don't care if in the secondary market it's red, like short bonds trading lower but that will mature to 100% regardless. I understand this leaves only bonds and the like, and only short bonds since growing interest rates likely mean that longer bonds will be deep in red for a long time until maturity. Are there any vehicles in particular that I can trust will at least beat inflation? I don't care about anything else at this point, just avoiding losing money by trade or by inflation
