Are the mega profits and record revenues in AI companies real?

I keep hearing AI many companies investing in another AI company. The second company then uses that investment to buy more products from the original AI company. Is this a common thing? And do these companies record “sales” of their own products from their own “investment” money as revenue? Asking this because I’m wondering if this is a valid concern with the AI boom/bubble. -Section-6179
