Malaysia’s Democratic Action Party (DAP) secretary general Anthony Loke has stepped down as transport minister a day after the Pardons Board decided to allow incarcerated former prime minister Najib Razak to serve the remainder of his jail term at home. “I have decided to resign as the minister of transport to the prime minister, and this only involves me as minister,” Loke said. Loke said that while the DAP respected the king’s decision to grant Najib a conditional pardon, it had taken a stand.
