There's no question that Realty Income (NYSE:O) is my favorite dividend stock. I appreciate the consistency and convenience of a monthly dividend, and I love the company's commitment to dividend growth. And now that Realty Income reported its third-quarter earnings report on Nov. 2, I see no reason to change my mind. The real estate investment trust recently declared its 676th consecutive monthly dividend, a track record that stretches back more than 56 years. But the real story isn't how long the company has been paying dividends. It's how Realty Income continues to generate the cash needed to keep those payments coming.
