Every time there is a big drop, it says “1 Trillion wiped from market, most in history” but it is not even a 2% drop. Or it will say “700 points from the dow dropped, most in history” but also not even a 2% drop. these markets have seen over 2% drops throughout history and multiple times in one year at some points… “points” or market cap will almost always increase long term for a market that has people investing into it every friday, has billionaire wealth stored in it, and is tied to the economic output of the country. so why isn’t it discussed in percentages instead of “points” or “market cap” that will forever have a new “biggest drop of all time”???
