Curious how people here actually research with AI. Two things happened to me recently: 1. An idea I rejected that became valid. I asked an AI whether a small airline stock was worth buying. The conclusion: "This only works if fuel prices drop. Fuel is expensive right now, so pass." Three weeks later, oil fell sharply, which was exactly the condition that would have made the trade work. Nothing reminded me. The chat was buried, and I only remembered after the stock had already moved. 2. An idea I bought that stopped being valid. I bought a solar company after researching it with AI. The main reason was: "Government subsidies for solar are continuing, so demand stays strong." A month later, news came out that those subsidies were being cut. The reason I bought was gone, but I didn't connect the news to my position until the stock had already dropped. In both cases the research was fine. The problem was that nobody was watching whether the conditions behind it still held. So I'm wondering how others handle this: Do you use AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, etc.) for stock research? What do you use them for? Do you write down why you bought or passed on a stock, and what would change your mind? Has news ever flipped one of your ideas, making a rejected idea good or breaking the reason you bought? Did you catch it in time? How do you keep track today: notes, spreadsheets, price alerts, news alerts, or just memory? -Dependent-52
