Shares of NuScale Power (NYSE: SMR) are down more than 85% from their 52-week high. Barclays reduced its price target on the stock in late October, dropping it from $11 to $5. The stock currently trades at around $5 per share, so the Wall Street firm is basically suggesting the stock is fully valued. A signed contract with ENTRA1 Energy or RoPower could prove Barclays wrong. Here's what you need to know. Nuclear power isn't new, and NuScale Power isn't trying to reinvent the wheel. What it has basically done is downsize existing nuclear power technology while using the most modern safety protocols in its small modular nuclear reactor (SMR) design. That design has received key regulatory approvals, so the company has achieved significant success. Image source: Getty Images.
