How did SPCX maintain its share price today despite adding 900,000,000 more shares?

I'm not sure I understand the mechanical nature of how this worked. Can someone explain this? Is it just that these shares didn't actually move today? Was it a gigantic "Fuck you" against short sellers? I see it had more volume than anything else on the market; was this just institutions buying everything they could immediately, thus preserving the price? I'm looking for someone who can explain how unlocking shares doesn't dilute price, because I thought I understood how this worked, b
