Just putting myself in the shoes of Google. Google currently owns about %14, so if $ANT IPOs at $1.5T this would be $210B. This also happens to be roughly how much Google is spending on their AI CapEx this year. If I'm Google, I would want to make sure $ANT IPO is a success, so I could trim ownership through out the year. Then use this money to out compete OAI and ANT. The higher the share price the more money I will have to spend on AI CapEx without damaging my own profitability. If Anthropic's shares tank because of Google's selling pressure (it will tank OAI's ability to raise funding as well). Google also wins because them and Meta become the only two labs left who can afford to keep spending in this AI race. As I'm thinking through this, I realized this is why Google wouldn't/shouldn't release a competitive model at a lower price than OAI/ANT until after ANT IPO and after they have the chance to sell a good amount of their shares. Is this what a financial vampire attack looks like in the tech world?
