On its third-quarter 2026 earnings call, held on Oct. 27, 2026, S&P Global (NYSE:SPGI) announced a strategic review of its Capital IQ business alongside raised full-year profit guidance. Streamlining operations allows the company to focus capital on high-margin credit ratings and market index benchmarks that generate durable recurring cash flows. Three things management said stand out. Management initiated a strategic review of Capital IQ, its desktop financial intelligence platform, and associated data businesses such as Kensho, its artificial intelligence data engine, to concentrate capital on core benchmark franchises. Customers using artificial intelligence (AI) data tools are expanding their annual contract value at up to 1.8 times the rate of non-AI clients, allowing S&P Global to command higher pricing while securing intellectual property (IP) rights.
